Just want to say that this casino usually does not pay out. Like the other Seminole Indian casinos. Especially the Hard Rock and Hollywood classic. Maybe once the hard rock construction is done they will start paying out again. But it is very rare that you win!
I do want to say that I am very grateful that after 27 years I finally won something worthwhile. Thanks coconut creek. It"s about time!
Love the deli. Best Matso ball soup in town.
All 3 stars go to the very pleasant, helpful staffers who went out of their way at each contact to make us feel welcomed.
Were there for a Thelma Houston concert benefitting Cancer. Ironic as the fabulous Ms. Houston hacked (gracefully) through her performance due to the cloud of second hand smoke permeating the facility.
They"re seriously in need of improved smoke eaters, and cigars should be relegated to sealed rooms. Heavy smoke makes it too foul to stay, and "smoke free" 2nd floor a stinky haze with sad vibe.
Thanks to awesome staff.
PS Your avg customers are 50 inches wide and theatre seats, that don"t flip up, are half that. Way to tight in there and safety hazard.
Coconut CROOK Casino
The best part about this casino is leaving it. If you ever wondered just how much a Casino has control over the slot machines you have to experience this first hand. It"s absolutely obvious they have their crooked fingers on the "Do Not Pay" button. In their defense they used to be a generous casino or shall I say FAIR casino. Those days are gone. They used to throw amazing Christmas parties and give away amazing things .. those days are also GONE. Their Buffet is down right disgusting. Cold Dried out entrees that look like they have been sitting there for days. The slot machines are so old and broken down they barely spin right . This place should be called "HOME OF THE BONUS COMPLETE " because in the rare event your slot actually bonuses you"ll be reading the bonus complete sign. Went on a Friday night and the place wasn"t packed like the old days.. that means south Florida is finally waking up to how stingy these Seminole owned Casinos really are. I admit it cost me a few dollars.. but I can honestly say this casino has cured me of the desire to play slot machines in a Seminole owned establishment . I love the Seminole Heritage, just not a fan of how they run the casinos. Would it kill you to fix your broken down crap fest machines.. After all don"t you want them not to run well.. how will you rip everyone off if the machines don"t work... hope this helps :)
It"s a fun place to go to play slots. There are many different types of games around. If you are new, make sure you get a gaming card and they will give you either $25 for the slots of $50 for blackjack/poker. I chose the slots. I have good controlled will power so I am ok with going and then leaving. The one thing I hate is the cigarette smoke everywhere! That would make me think twice before I came back. Everything wreaked of smoke and I don"t appreciate inhaling the 2nd hand smoke! It is a fun place that has live entertainment. I walked away as a winner-but how many really do?
I love the Seminole Nation. I have spent a lot of time studying and visiting their important historical sites in South Florida. They are the only native people the US government was never able to force to surrender. There were 200,00 Seminole living in Florida in 1513 and after the Third Seminole War there were less than 200 members left. The survivors hid out in the Everglades. After the decimation of their nation by the US government in the 1800"s they are thriving today. They started with the humble beginnings of bingo and have since transformed that into a large scale expansion into the gaming industry.
One result of that expansion is the Seminole Casino located in Coconut Creek. It is a large casino where you can play slot machines as well as table games like poker, baccarat, and black jack. They have several restaurants in the casual and fine dining categories, bars and lounges and an entertainment venue called The Pavilion that hosts national music and comedy acts.
I don"t come to the casino because I don"t gamble and they allow smoking which I am not able to tolerate. Apparently there is a smoke free upper level that is supposed to be somewhat better but from what I hear it is still smoky. Instead I come once a year for their Fourth of July celebration held on July 3. From 7-9 they have food trucks and music and it"s topped off by a Grucci of New York fire work show at 9 PM. The event is always popular and if you want to park in the garage you must get there by 7 at the latest. I came later and found a spot on the outskirts of the casino property. The Fourth of July celebration is a fun free family event offered to the community. While I won"t be at the casino anytime soon I plan to visit their Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum on July 28th for their Seminole War Day which will have special exhibits.
Unless you"re a heavy, heavy smoker, don"t go!!! We went to see the #PettyHearts (they were great), but the place was so incredibly smoky, we almost couldn"t stay because we both felt so sick. Cigars and cigarettes abound. No ventilation. I wanted to take a shower before we got in the car. Horrible place.
Attended an event at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek today, in honor of Disabled Veterans. The event itself was absolutely amazing! The tribute and honor given to our men and women who served, specifically in WWII and Vietnam was extremely touching. I was honored to be a part of it. Veterans were ushered into the dining area where they were seated and served with a wide range of buffet items. Off the chopping block: brisket, beef and more. A pasta station, beef stew, salmon, the creamiest mashed potatoes I"ve ever tasted, veggies, salads, and OMG the deserts! Couldn"t choose so went with an array of delightables!! Yes, I made that up but that"s just the best word that came to mind. The servers were quick, attentive, and friendly. It was quite an experience. I found out that they offer a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet daily. I will be back for more. Sadly, I got pics of the deserts but not the meal. Was too busy eating it. Lol.
This place sucks! These machines are so tight you can"t even have a fun date night. We weren"t even there long enough to buy drinks!!! I should be able to play with $200 for longer then 30 mins. And when I say 30 mins, I"m rounding that....it was actually 23 mins!!!! I wouldn"t care if I lost $200 in 2 or 3 hours but 30 mins is a joke! Don"t waste your time here or money!!!
Omg this place is like smoking a pack of cigarettes every second. Not to mention the slot machines are so tight! I don"t care about losing but come on...gross
First time at this casino, didn"t realize I was always passing it, sits back in the cut! Huge building, especially like that it has a smoke free second floor!
I was taken by surprise and as such, rated it 3 stars, because no free drinks while you"re playing slots or tables! What!!! I asked for a drink and the server said $5!
I"m debating if she said it would be $5 because she thought I wouldn"t tip???
Every casino I"ve ever played in, Vegas, Aruba, Atlantic City, they all give you free drinks! Who wants to lose money and be sober!!! Ugh!!!
Will return, because I had fun. I will however, have my flask in hand!!! Lol
Ducked in for some Sunday Funday poker playing and it was a fine time. Both myself and tight man made it to the pay-out cut, so that rocks.
The place gets busy on Sunday. Excellent deli located next to the Poker room.
Lots and lots of slots and new ones at that.
The ladies who deal cards are by far the best looking around.
Drinks are a tad pricey, and the place is smokey, so that kept that 5th Star holstered. Sad face.
Good stuff, Cabeza OUT!
This review is long overdue. When I give a 1 star review, I feel it necessary to provide the details to Yelp readers. As of the time of this posting, I way forced to leave coconut creek casino due to the pathetic table scheduling by the Poker management. If they cared for the regular players, they would not have only 3 tables open with 41 players waiting to be seated. I drove to the Isles and was seated immediately. Additional complaints are as follows: creek is now the only casino that refuse to allow the "1card plays for the high hand". The other Seminole casinos, allow 1 card play for high hands. Points accrued for poker are considerable lower than the competition and expire after 2 months. Isles points never expired and in addition, you get more. Since management refuses to be competitive, I"m hoping reviews like this will gain someone"s attention.
We come here once a year for a Christmas party and this place is always amazing and everybody is wonderful and they give me a much prime rib as I want you guys are da bomb
Don"t go there if you don"t smoke. They advertise a smoke free second floor for Blackjack and slots. On a totally dead Saturday morning (1 am), the minimum on the smoke-free floor was $200. Not a single player was at a table!
So, to play Blackjack, we were told we"d need to go downstairs (and breathe second-hand smoke). That"s a health hazard, FYI, Seminole Coconut Creek Casino.
Who ever the bonehead is that came up with that policy should be fired. Monday, I"m going to report this establishment to the Broward County Health Department.
And to top it off, we had to pay $10 parking just to find out we were unable to play. If there was a zero star review, they"d have gotten it.
Had a wonderful experience at the Coconut Creek Casino during the "An Evening with Sophia Loren".
The entire staff was friendly and helpful and informative. The place was well-run and the grounds, inside and out were neat and well taken care of.
Usually these high- visibility events with such a huge personality runs into snags and delays. Quite the contrary. Everyone was gracious and even gave me suggestions oh how to get the flowers I had purchased for Ms. Loren, to her, without disturbing her and without delay.
Thanks to the staff there. Was very impressed!
If i could give it zero stars, I would. Everything is way overpriced. The other patrons are super ghetto and bang on the machines. If you make money gambling, you are really lucky. Oh and if you RSVP for a gift, do not get your hopes up for actually receiving it. 3 times I went and they ran out because they did not expect so many people. Then what is the point of reserving it? I should have stopped spending money here a long time ago.

"Mixed Bag"
Depends on what your goal is and your point of view!
Huge Casino spread out over wide area!
If you are going for the overall experience then it CAN be enjoyable. Then go forth and enjoy gambling
What "grained-us" the "wrong-way" was we compared it to Atlantic City NJ Casinos (Don"t even bother matching it to Las Vegas)!
OK
The "Walk-Around" Service Servers charge you UP-FRONT $8 for drinks that are "for-a-tip" in Atlantic City
The VOUCHER-REDEEMING-MACHINES do NOT give you CHANGE on your winning vouchers... unlike Atlantic City Casinos whose Redemption Machines also-dispense loose change, Seminole KEEPS ALL THE LOOSE CHANGE listed on your cumulative vouchers
You need to wait on line at one of the RARE Cashier places if you can wonder around and find one as you pass tons of change-keeping voucher-redeeming machines
Smoke in the main floor is so thick you can choke on it as I did and you bring that smokers stench home with you even if you are only passing through
FOR ME THAT"S WASTED Dry-Cleaner money wasted
Food-Court Food was, well, eh, not as good as Atlantic City... and if you dare compare it to Las Vegas ... ha, forgettahboutit
OK so I am whining OK so I will flip -it around:
If you don"t mind any of that and are going to focus on just gambling and have a "Who-Cares Viewpoint" regarding the smoke, the lost change, paying $8.xx for your drink instead of discretionary tip -or- the blah food court food, the, by-all-means you will have as decent-of-a-time as gambling in any casino... the GO FOR IT AND GO FORTH AND GAMBLE YOUR HEART AWAY and enjoy yourself as a diversionary pastime while vacationing in Florida
I had an enjoyable experience at this casino. I like the games, the variety, the layout is fine. It is a little smoky but nothing like the Hard Rocks all around....
I enjoyed the one food offering I experienced (1st Street Deli - see separate review). This is an alternative to the Isle in Pompano, where you always lose big! Here, at least, you don"t lose as much. Well, I didn"t.
I will definitely come back. Interested in trying some of the other food options, too! And interested in WINNING BIG!
The inside of the casino is okay and has all the slots one could imagine, including video poker. They still don"t have approval for live craps or roulette. Then again, blackjack has always been the popular game and over the past decade, people have realized baccarat offers the best odds. So, there are plenty of mini-bac games.
Expect to see a large crowd of people gambling who shouldn"t be gambling too. It"s some what pathetic. Also, a lot of wheelchairs, scooters and walkers.
People smoke everywhere so prepare for it and or go to level 2, their small smoke free gaming area and bar.
There"s no competition, so don"t expect much in the way of comps unless you"re a high elite (15,000 points or more), X-Card or have a credit line with them.
The First Street Deli has great sandwhiches and NYY Steakhouse is great...expensive, but well worth it.
3/25/17 - This is a really nice casino, a bit smokey but aren"t all casinos?
I"m not one to gamble, but I did put in a $1 in one of the slot machines and won $20.22!!! I"ll take it. It paid for my Uber. There are really great restaurants like NYY Steaks and Sorrisi. Nectar is their live music venue and they serve sushi and gourmet pizza. There are plenty of Las Vegas style slots, table games like black jack and baccarat as well.
The bar right outside Nectar, had great prices on drinks with $5 Rum & Coke. The casino has a great vibe and I would definitely return. Maybe I"ll win more next time.
